Can’t believe how fast this Xmas holiday has flown past. The only productive thing that I have done so far was tidying up my front yard this morning. Yesterday we went to watch the MI: Ghost Protocol and it was brilliant! I will post a short review later if I’ve got time Now…off to shops for some more food shopping and may be making some chocolate fondants later for tea, thank you Wayne for the great Xmas present!

Finally I got a chance to bring my camera for a walk before our work Christmas dinner at the Outback Jack in Freo last Saturday. It was a rather interesting night I must say, unfortunately not in a very good way. Our dinner took what seemed like more than 2 hours before they were served and the crocodile meat that I ordered tasted more like breast meat from a geriatric chicken. I guess the kitchen was a little bit overwhelmed by hungry diners but still no excuses for the slow service and uninspired meals.

Xmas Shopping

Yeah! Done all our Xmas shopping (….well, almost done) last Sunday in the city. We didn’t even realise there was this yearly Christmas pageant earlier in the morning until later. Anyway, I still think having the pageant in the morning is a rather silly idea even though it is said to improve the city trade in the afternoon. I guess having the parade in broad daylight has one definite advantage, the participants could probably cut down a bit of electricity usage by not powering up their traditional flashing lights, which unfortunately could have made the parade a much more presentable event late in the evening

Well…that’s what I have been keep telling myself during the past weeks. I haven’t been busy lately neither, so can’t use that as an excuse. I guess I have better things to do…like playing computer games (I know I know) and …baking. To prove how serious I am, I have even got myself a Sunbeam Mixmaster from Myer last week!

To keep this blog rolling, I guess I better post something These few photos were taken quite a few weeks ago during a picnic lunch in Yanchep.

Even with more than average rainfall this year, the lake in Yanchep is still rather dry, not a good sign indeed

Genesis in the Hills

Just by looking at the name, it definitely doesn’t suggest a restaurant or anything close to that but it is in fact, a beautiful vegetarian restaurant situated in Roleystone, right in the middle of the hills. I have been to Araluen Botanic Park numerous times in the past, but not once did I realise that I drove past this restaurant. Of course, it is rather easy to miss because they only have a small inconspicuous sign on their narrow driveway pointing to the restaurant. We went there just in time for breakfast last Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful and friendly their staff is. We quickly placed our orders and grabbed a table along the balcony waiting with anticipations. Trust me, if you are feeling the stress or need a place to escape to after a wild Saturday party, a healthy breakfast at Genesis in the Hills will definitely instill some sanity back into you. The place is amazingly tranquil and beautiful. The food, well, they were beautiful and very reasonably priced. Unfortunately the same cannot be said with their coffee. Our flat white is a tad too bitter even though they appear to be using quality beans from Fiori. So go there for their wonderful service, food and atmosphere, and probably give their coffee a miss We will definitely go back again….for their beautiful range of cakes.

I have been really slack at updating blog lately. Couple of weeks ago, both of us did have a week off work but we spent most of our time in our backyard and garden. Furthermore, I think we are allergic to weeds seriously because we literally got a rash straight after we cleaned our backyard lol!
