Korean Trip : Geongju

16Feb12

Geongju is a small historical coastal town located in North Gyeongsang province of South Korea.  It was the capital city of the ancient Kingdom of Silla, which was one of the three kingdoms that once ruled Korea.  One of the most remarkable attractions (beside the mouthwatering Gyeongju bread hehe!) is a huge numbers of ancient hill-like tombs scattered around the town.  Some of these tombs look as big as a 2 stories building!  We did go inside one of such tombs, unfortunately we were not allowed to take any pictures.  I have uploaded 2 of my favourite shots on Flickr for larger view if you are interested.

It's kinda strange to see foreigners here (but then I remembered I was one of them)

Hungry at the end of the trip, looking for a restaurant for lunch but the first 2 choices were closed for some reasons. At the end we did find the best soft tofu soup I have ever tasted. Photos in my next update :)
