Korean Trip: Seokguram

19Feb12

Seokguram (석굴암) is actually part of the Bulguksa complex in Gyeongju, just a relatively short hike up a beautiful path laced with colourful lanterns from its car park.  Originally called “Stone Buddha Temple” (석불사), situated 750m above sea level overlooking Sea of Japan, it is the National Treasure of Korea #24.  The order of the photos is a bit muddled up, sorry :p

I have included this photo which was taken about 6 years ago just for a bit of comparison. Nothing much has changed except it was snowly rather heavily during that time and the view was awesome!

These stairs are always a bit trecherous and even more if they were covered with slippery ice
